The new presidency committee of Croatian Operations Research Society (CRORS), president – associate professor Zrinka Lukač, vice president – assistant professor Josip Arnerić, secretary – assistant professor Anita Čeh Časni and treasurer – senior assistant Berislav Žmuk respectively, took over the management of the society by authorization and administration transfer from the former presidency members. The former president of the society professor Marijana Zekić Sušac and former treasurer Adela Has held a meeting with new presidency members at Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb on 25th November, 2016. The new president of the society professor Zrinka Lukač has expressed her gratitude to the previous management for their support and congratulated them for successfully leading the society in the last 4 years as well as expressed her hopes for further cooperation.
Less than a month before KOI 2016! The Preliminary Program of KOI 2016 conference is announced. This year we have a record number of participants (237) from 25 countries, 119 contributed paper, 5 invited lectures, 2 keynote lectures in Special Section on IPM and Related Methods. The new issue of CRORS News – Volume 3, Number 1 (April 2016) is published. With the new editor, Josip Arnerić, this issue brings reports on CRORS (HDOI) activities in 2015 and in the beginning of 2016, reports from EURO Glasgow 2015, SOR 2015, EECC 2015, DEA 2015, CRORS Workshop on Neural Networks and other reports. In addition, professors Jakob Krarup and Graham K. Rand wrote the article “In memoriam to Maurice F. Shutler (1931-2015)” . The team members of EURO research group on OR/MS in education report the first results of their “European Study on OR/MS Education”. We also announce KOI 2016 conference, and other OR-related conferences worldwide. The new editorial team wish you to enjoy reading our society news and join us as an author in the next issue.
The 2nd Call for papers for KOI 2016 (16th International Conference on Operational Research) conference is announced. KOI conference is the major event organized by the Croatian Operational Research Society since 1992. This year we expect five top experts to be keynote speakers, such as Jakob Krarup, Andrew Barron, Francisco Martínez Álvarez, Marko Bohanec, and Tibor Illes. Eight different sections will be organized including the special section dedicated to Interior-Point methods. Also, a round table on OR in Education will be organized in conjunction with the conference.

Greys Sošić, professor at University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, Los Angeles, SAD and the head of the doctoral program “Information and Operations Management” is staying in Croatia in November 2015, giving lectures and promoting their doctoral program scholarships among our students.
Organized by the Ingineering section of Croatian Mathematical Society she gave a lecture at Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb on November 24, 2015 at 6.15 p.m. (lecture room 004), while the next day, on November 25 she will give a lecture at Department of Mathematics, University of Osijek (organized by Mathematical Colloquium) at 5 p.m (lecture room 36). Croatian Operational Research Society announces an
INTERNAL CALL FOR SUPPORT FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS by which it will support one of its young members to attend one of the EURO programs for young researchers: EURO PhD School, NATCOR program, or ELAVIO school that will be held in 2016. For additional information, see the HDOI Call for Support for EURO programs (pdf). We invite all our interested members to apply to firstname.lastname@example.org. All candidates should also send the application to the specific EURO program they apply for.
The deadline is 30.11.2016.
A day before the conference, the EURO Council Meeting was held, at which the national representatives discussed past and future EURO activities. Around 2200 participants presented their papers or posters at the conference. Publisher such as Elsevier, Springer had their booths with the samples of journals and books. Also, the meeting with EURO research group „OR/MS in Education“ was led by Ana Paula Teixeira from Portugal. HDOI agreed to participate this survey, and that the results of this survey will be presented at KOI 2016 conference. Nine Croatian researchers HDOI participated the EURO 2015 conference, five of them were HDOI members. Our members Tunjo Perić, Goran Lešaja and Tihomir Hunjak were chairs of sections, while Marijana Zekić-Sušac participated as an author and as an offical representative of HDOI at EURO Council Meeting.

See the new issue of the CRORR Journal: Volume 6, Number 2, published in October 2015.
This issue brings 16 original scientific papers in the area of operational research and related areas: statistics, applied mathematics, simulations, data mining and machine learning. Full-text of all published issues is available online at Published Volumes. The journal is already indexed in some databases (see Abstracting and Indexing menu) and is submitted for indexing in WoS and Scopus databases. We have also launched the new web page of the CRORR journal.
EURO 2015 is organised by the European Association of Operational Research Societies (EURO) and will be hosted at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow from 12 to 15 July, 2015.
The conference will host streams from all branches of ORMS, alongside keynotes and plenaries from leading international thinkers and tutorials on emerging areas of interest. Moreover, it will include presentations and discussions that will have a particular focus on the practice of O.R.
